If you think about it from the business perspective, Christmas at the North Pole is nothing but a big project. Santa and his little helpers collect letters from kids, manufacture toys, take care of the on-time delivery… With all this in mind just imagine how the preparations for Christmas would look like when done by software developers (developElves?):
